Coal Augering Services offers a complete contract auger mining service, employing the highest capacity equipment and most experienced auger mining personnel in the world.

 

Auger mining is employed to increase reserves, accessing coal lying beyond the economic reach of conventional stripping operations.

 

Coal Augering Services' new generation of coal recovery augers are capable of drilling holes with diameters ranging from 1.2m up to 1.9m, to a depth of more than 200m and augering up to 2,400 tonnes in a 12-hour operating shift.

About Us

Coal Augering Services offers a turnkey high productivity contract auger mining service, enabling safe and economic access to reserves which are otherwise inaccessible. Coal Augering Services is able to undertake all works from pit cleanup through to product haulage to ROM.

 

Coal Augering Services was established in 2003 and is based in Brisbane Queensland, Australia with operations in Central Queensland.

 

To date, Coal Augering Services has achieved a number of Australian production records for surface auger mining, which include:-

 

  • Auger hole depth of 203m (single auger)

  • Production of 2,437t in a single shift

  • Production of 10,000t in a 5-shift week

Coal Augering Services (CAS) offers a complete contract auger mining service employing the highest capacity equipment and most experienced auger mining personnel in the world.  Due to extensive auger mining opportunities in Australia, we are presently in the process of expanding our operations and require experienced auger operators for our AM1500 auger miner.  Auger Operators with the following attributes are encouraged to apply.
 

Essential Criteria:

  • Ability to multi focus at all times throughout shift

  • Strong safety focus.

  • Willingness to work and, preferably, live in the Bowen Basin, Central Queensland.

  • Good machinery operational and awareness skills

  • Good mechanical aptitude

  • Good conceptual skills (i.e. ability to visualise)

  • Good team player

  • Good communication skills

  • Great attitude and work ethic

  • Leadership skills
     

CAS Requirements:

  • Current Australian Drivers Licence

  • Strong literacy skills

  • Generic Coal Surface Induction (Standard 11)

  • Coal Board Medical

  • Documented experience in the operation of coal auger machines in Australia or elsewhere

  • Ability to train and pass Australian national Competencies for the operation of an Auger Machine and current or past competencies for the support equipment, such as Excavator, Front End Loader, Stacker etc.

  • Ability to undergo supervisor training, or hold current Supervisor competencies
     

Remuneration Package:

  • Candidates will undergo a 3 month probationary period

  • Generous hourly rate

  • Tonnage bonus

  • Assistance with travel and accommodation depending on circumstances
     

The working roster will vary according to contracts.
